He Who Must Not Be Drawn returns at the end of 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' (JKRowling).

Pretty much the image in my mind's eye when I first read the scene. It's also an old old old drawing I didn't treat very well, so photoshop couldn't help much either.

I'm not ever going to do a more detailed picture of Voldemort, and certainly not his face, because I find he's just unscary on pictures. What you can't see and don't know is always scarier, because your imagination just runs amok. Ah, I see we're getting close to Burke's idea of the sublime here.

You're right; what you can't see and don't know is always scarier. Like the chess figures with no face xP

You hack your way through the jungle and there comes a point where the guide says "get out your cameras. The gorillas are around the corner." I grabbed my sketch book. The guide looked at me like I was an idiot.

...Chess Figures? (Are you referring to the first Potter film, or just generally.) But yeah - faceless, nameless fear. :fear: (Except Voldemort has a name, much as he'd wish us not to say so.)

Da first Potter film/book ^^ What was that phrase from Dumbledore? The one that something like not saying the name makes you fear it more (can't remember how it was exactly)

Beautiful. Getting very conceptual here, and it really works well.

The contrast in this drawing is beautiful, it is really scary.
I love voldemort's hand.
