From 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' by J K Rowling.

LOL another HP-themed test plate. So this one is a copper etching, with sugar lift ground and a very faint and grainy aquatint and subsequent watercolour wash, heh.

But I liked the image well enough to post it anyway - the perspective is all wonky but the triangle between Lily's elation, Snape's yearning and Petunia's disapproving holding back is how I wanted it to be. And let's face it, I'm not going to work on a better version any time soon.

Oh yeah - I decided Spinner's End is totally and obviously in <strike>Yorkshire.</strike> Lancashire? Bronteland. - wtf I AM A FOREIGNER (really!) ;)

so sweet! I love its simplicity.

Oh, you just took me back to when I thought I could fly when I was on a swingset. . . . :aww: thank you.

You're welcome! I loved swinging too when I was little. Now I get sick pretty easily. :(

Me too - I won't go near amusement park rides now. When I was a kid though swinging was so close to flying, it would put me in a pleasant dream state :hmm:

Simple, well done and beautiful scene... I can`t wait to see a more detailed one...I love your illustrations... make more!!!!!

This is an etching?! I'm marvelling how clean the print looks. Not that I'm so experienced with etching. I only made one at school, but back then I remember having trouble to make all the details appear in the print.
Well, back to the picture: I love the cartoony style that you used. It seems very fitting for the scene. ;)

Hm... not enough pressure? *autopilot technician* ;)

Glad you like it! It's a pretty small plate - probably roughly the same size as the full-view size here. I'd have trouble getting in much detail and softness with a needle, as I do with a pencil.

Glad you like it - also that you think it's simple. I find it incredibly busy, somehow - probably because I know how fiddly it was to make it...
