From 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' by J K Rowling.
On his way to face his death, Harry uses the Resurrection Stone to recall his deceased loved ones. They comfort him, and I THINK (I'm drawing this all from memory, so please forgive deviations from the text) his mother says, "You've been so brave." (Correct me if I'm wrong.) I don't think she actually touches him - she couldn't anyway, I suppose - but I wanted that pride, admiration and comfort to be expressed visually. Isn't that what we all want, when we die - our parents reassuring us we did all right?
A3, pencil, given a bit of oomph with Photoshop, as usual.

absolutely beautiful!!! I\'m still waiting for the optional dA-double-fav button ... wirklich toll gemacht, ich hab ja auchmal eine Skizze von der Szene vorentworfen ([link]) aber ach Gott, mein Ansatz ist ja sowas von beschissen (sorry had to write this) ich hatte keine Vorstellung - und jetzt hast du mir eine gegeben! Perfekt! There must be some kind of brain-skype between us, ermmm ...
Oh danke sehr! Also BITTE ZEICHNEN!
(Übrigens bin ich froh, dass bei allen gerade der Apostroph immer mit einem Slashdingsbums erscheint, nicht nur bei mir - ich dachte schon ich wäre irgendwie mal wieder html-inkompetent.)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
